Antigravity has partnered with travel filmmaker Sam Newton for a video editing contest that’s open to everyone, whether you own their A1 drone or not. Prizes include the A1 drone bundle and other goodies, and the winner will be selected by Newton himself.
The twist: if you don’t have an A1 drone, Antigravity is providing free 8K 360 footage you can download and edit.
Why the Antigravity A1 drone is so hot right now

The Antigravity A1 is the world’s first all-in-one 8K 360 drone, meaning it captures full 360-degree video without needing an external camera attachment. Unlike traditional drones where you frame your shot while flying, the A1 captures everything around it. Then, you choose your composition in post-production.
It’s been generating buzz for a few reasons: it launched in December 2025 with unique FPV goggles and a point-to-fly control system that’s easier for beginners than traditional dual-stick controllers. At 249g, it requires no FAA registration. And it recently became available on Amazon, making it one of the few premium drones easily accessible through a major U.S. retailer at a time when foreign-made drones face increasing regulatory pressure.
The A1 comes from a Chinese drone company, though it uses American-made chip Ambarella. The drone is priced at $1,599 for the base bundle (currently 15% off through February 9), positioning it as a premium alternative to DJI drones — and a great pick for creators interested in immersive 360 content rather than traditional aerial photography.

How to enter the contest to win an Antigravity A1 drone
If you own an A1 drone:
- Fly your drone and capture your own footage
- Edit it however you want
- Post to social media using the “Flying 360” soundtrack (download here). Entries can be shared across your social media platform of choice including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and X.
- Use hashtag #Flying360 and follow Antigravity from the social network you’re posting from to be considered.
If you don’t own an A1:
- Download Antigravity’s sample 8K 360 footage (available here)
- Edit it using their free software (Antigravity Studio for desktop or the Antigravity App for mobile)
- Post with the “Flying 360” soundtrack.
- Use hashtag #Flying360 and follow Antigravity.
The contest runs through February 16, 2026. Entries are accepted on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and X. Just make sure your account is public to be eligible to win.
Smart marketing to share the widely-anticipated new drone
With this user-generated content campaign, Antigravity will likely get hundreds of people creating branded videos with their specific soundtrack and hashtag. You get a chance at winning a drone.
That said, if you’ve been curious about 360 drone editing but don’t own the hardware, downloading their sample footage and playing with their software is a legitimate way to experiment with the workflow. The A1’s “fly first, frame later” concept is its main selling point — this contest lets you test the “frame later” part without buying the drone.
Editing tips ahead of entering the A1 drone contest

Antigravity included three editing tips with the contest announcement:
- Use “Free view” before keyframing for more flexible reframing. By doing this, the viewing angle stays consistent regardless of drone rotation.
- Add roll angles for dynamic movement rather than just adjusting view angle.
- Speed up smooth, stable footage for a more dramatic effect.
These are basic 360 editing techniques, not revolutionary insights. But if you’re new to 360 video, they’re decent starting points.
The A1 drone is also on sale
Worth noting: Antigravity is currently running a 15% off sale on all A1 bundles through February 9. So if you’re considering buying one anyway, you could enter the contest with your own footage and save money if you don’t win.
The Standard Bundle has dropped from $1,599 to $1,359 during the sale.
