Today in Apple history: Apple sets up shop inside CompUSA stores

Desiring more control over how Macs got sold, Apple turned to CompUSA.

On November 4, 1997, Apple unveiled a deal to add a mini “store within a store” in CompUSA outlets. It was a dry run for today’s Apple stores.
